This question can be addressed once we complete a walk through and see the scope of your project. We’ll assess the scope of your drywall job and provide an estimated start and completion date. Work hours for your project are discussed at this time as well.

Why does it take so long to complete a drywall project?

Drywall installation and finishing require two sets of skills. This often means coordinating the work effort of two teams. Drywall finishing also requires multiple steps (taping, coating and sanding/touch up). Each step in the finishing phase requires that the previously step be completely dry prior to moving forward.

Is there any difference in drywall brands?

We have had decades of experience with USG, Georgia Pacific, and Continental brand products. We are most experienced with USG products and prefer them in most cases. One exception is Firecode rated drywall where we prefer Gold Bond 5/8″ FC drywall. Using any of these products will produce high quality results with the proper technical expertise.

Why does Purple Frog Drywall use screws and glue during the installation?

To minimize defects caused by framing shifts, we install the drywall using techniques exceeding OEM and local code standards.

My basement flooded, how should I repair it?

First, remove all drywall that was wet even if it has dried out. This will minimize the opportunity for mold growth in the wall cavity. Second, dry out the area THOROUGHLY before new drywall. Next, install WR (Water Resistant) drywall in all the affected areas and finish the drywall as normal. NOTE: We recommend WR drywall for all basement installations below grade. We have been encouraging this practice for many years successfully.
